Latest V7 Software Release

All Topo V7 Build 7818 is now available through the web update. This link will get you to the right place:
http://www.igage.com/ms/atmv7pro/setupv7.exe

This link:
http://www.igage.com/ms/atmv7pro/version/AllTopoVersion.html
will get you a list of all the enhancements in the latest version.

Of note:
o support for the Garmin Colorado/Oregon GPS receiver (support is in V7 viewer, not GPS tool)
o AllTopo computes area along lines (intended to compute area along a spray line)
o AllTopo will now highlight annotations selected in the waypoint list
o ArchGrid tool now allows you to rotate grids (handy for non-cardinal transects)

Plus plenty of other goodies.

AllTopos on DVD: Update Media Kits

If you are a AllTopo V7 user you should have received a letter offering to update your AllTopo map set to DVD's. These media kits could have been purchased with (or without) my ATM101 training DVD set.

The deadline for ordering the updates has come and gone, but you can still get them if you call and tell them you saw this offer on Mark's Blog.

The DVD's are much easier to deal with than the CD's we used to distribute on:

1. Most states enjoy a much smaller disk count. Montana went from 35 CD's to 5 DVD's.
2. All of the maps are on the main disks (there are no update disks).
3. The updates include a new install disk with the latest software included.
4. The updates include every new map in our collection that we scanned before Aug 2008.

Prices are totally reasonable too!

New Maps

We have added 241 new maps to the AllTopo archive in 2008 (as of October 10th 2008). There were 1477 new maps in 2007 and 941 new maps in 2006.

I think we might be the only company left producing digital raster maps of USGS quadrangles as new maps are printed. Our (few) competitors appear to be far behind us scanning new maps.

I just compiled the new map lists and have placed them on the web:

by scan date: http://www.igage.com/newmaps/datelist.html
by map name: http://www.igage.com/newmaps/maplist.html
by state: http://www.igage.com/newmaps/statelist.html

These are fairly large files they will take a few moments to load.

As always, if you find a new map that we have not scanned, please call us and let us know. We will get the map ordered and scanned.
